News Basketball star Kobe Bryant filed a 16-page list in federal court Monday of people and institutions he contends are really to blame for Katelyn Faber's claimed "public scorn, hatred and ridicule." The 21-year-old Eagle woman has accused Bryant of raping her during the summer of 2003 at a mountain resort where he was a guest and she was employed. Her civil suit against Bryant is pending in Colorado U.S. District Court.
Both the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post are listed. Also on the list is the Colorado Judicial Branch, which twice posted Faber's identity on the Internet and accidentally sent a secret hearing transcript to journalists. The list includes two individuals accused of threatening Faber and several Web sites that Bryant contends have published information about Faber that could have contributed to any damages she suffered. "Mr. Bryant is continuing his factual investigation and may discover additional relevant published statements," the document said. Copyright 2004, Rocky Mountain News. All Rights Reserved. |
